Turbot is one of the most refined and elegant fish. As the name suggests, it has a rhomboid shape and is distinguished from other rhombuses due to the bony tubercles present on the body from which its name "spiked" derives. It lives in nature lying with the blind side and whitish in color, on the sandy or sandy bottoms of which it takes on the color to blend in.
